Mostly cloudy, breezy & evening showers; IMPACT DAY Thursday for storms in south-central Pennsylvania

We have high temperatures reaching the 50s this afternoon with increasingly breezy conditions. It's an IMPACT Day tomorrow for the threat of storms that will move through the area tomorrow evening into overnight. We time it out for your in our latest forecast.

DAY. WELL GOOD AFTERNOON. REALLY COOL THERE WITH THE TELESCOPE. AND THEN AS WE GO INTO THE THURSDAY NIGHT, WE’RE LOOKING AT SOME STRONG STORM POTENTIAL ACROSS THE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY. THIS WILL BE DURING THE EVENING HOURS AND OVERNIGHT HOURS TOMORROW NIGHT. AND THAT’S WHY WE HAVE IT AS AN IMPACT EVENING. THE THREAT WILL BE SOME WIND GUSTS OVER 60MPH AND ALSO SOME HEAVY RAIN. WE COULD SEE ANYWHERE FROM A QUARTER TO A FULL INCH OF RAIN, DEPENDING ON YOUR LOCATION IMPACTS DOWNED TREES AND BRANCHES, AS WELL AS A FEW POWER OUTAGES AND PONDING ON THE ROADWAYS. SO JUST SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF FOR TOMORROW NIGHT. BUT TODAY IT IS CLOUDY. WE HAVE THE CLOUDS IN PLACE RIGHT NOW AND AS WE LOOK OFF TO THE WEST, YOU SEE THIS LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING PITTSBURGH. THEY WILL CONTINUE ITS TRAJECTORY OVER TO PENNSYLVANIA, BUT AS IT COMES OVER THE MOUNTAINS, IT WILL BREAK UP. AND WE EXPECT THAT TO BRING US SOME SHOWERS AS WE GO THROUGH TONIGHT. SO LET’S TIME THAT OUT FOR YOU HERE. YOU GOT THAT LINE OFF TO THE WEST AND YOU CAN SEE HOW AGAIN, IT KIND OF GOES ON A WEAKENING TREND AS WE GO THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS BETWEEN 4 AND 7:00. SO NORTH OF THE TURNPIKE, OUR BEST BET AT GETTING SOME OF THOSE SHOWERS TONIGHT. NOT EXPECTING MUCH, BUT WE’LL TAKE EVERYTHING WE CAN GET WITH THIS AS WE GO INTO TONIGHT AND ALSO THURSDAY MORNING. WE ARE LOOKING AT SOME SHOWERS AFTER SUNRISE TOMORROW. VERY LIGHT, NON SEVERE SHOWERS AS WE GO INTO THE MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON TOMORROW. THEN WE GET A LITTLE BIT OF CLEARING AND THIS WILL BE IMPORTANT BECAUSE THIS WILL HELP WITH THE INSTABILITY. THE MORE CLEARING WE SEE TOMORROW THE GREATER THE INSTABILITY POTENTIAL. SO WE WILL BE WATCHING THAT VERY CAREFULLY TOMORROW. IT’S ONE OF THOSE DAYS YOU DON’T WANT SUNSHINE. THE MORE SUN YOU GET, THE MORE FUEL YOU ADD TO STORMS. AND AS THOSE STORMS COME IN DURING THE EVENING AND OVERNIGHT HOURS, THEY WILL TAP INTO THAT INSTABILITY AND THAT WILL DETERMINE ON HOW STRONG THEY GET. AND THIS WILL BE DURING YOUR THURSDAY EVENING AND THURSDAY NIGHT TIME FRAME. EVEN FRIDAY MORNING. STILL DEALING WITH SOME SHOWERS WITH THAT BOUNDARY RIGHT OVERHEAD. SO WE’LL BE KEEPING AN EYE ON THAT. WIND GUSTS THOUGH TODAY ARE GOING TO BE UP THERE AROUND 25 TO 35MPH, POSSIBLY GETTING CLOSE TO 40MPH IN SOME CASES. SO IT’S STILL A BREEZY DAY TODAY WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S AGAIN THAT EVENING. SHOWER NORTH OF THE TURNPIKE. TONIGHT, MOSTLY CLOUDY, NOT AS COLD AND BREEZY WITH THOSE MORNING SHOWERS STARTING ON YOUR THURSDAY, BUT THEY’RE NOT SEVERE. AGAIN, IT’S GOING TO BE THE EVENING ROUND THAT WE’RE GOING TO BE WATCHING. WITH TEMPERATURES GETTING WELL INTO THE 70S. THAT’S ALL BECAUSE OF THIS SYSTEM THAT’S BRINGING SEVERE WEATHER TO PARTS OF THE DEEP SOUTH HERE TO LATER ON TODAY, WE WILL BE GETTING THE SEVERE THREAT. TOMORROW WE HAVE THAT SCATTERED STORM CHANCE, WHICH IS THAT SLIGHT RISK THERE IN YELLOW, A TWO OUT OF FIVE. AGAIN, COUPLE STRONG STORMS POSSIBLE. NOT ALL OF THEM WILL BE SEVERE, BUT WE WILL BE KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR THE DAMAGING WINDS AND DOWNPOUR POTENTIAL WITH THOSE STORMS. SO SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND. AND THEN AFTER THAT, IT’S GOING TO BE A TEMPERATURE ROLLER COASTER. I MEAN, CHECK THIS OUT. WE GO FROM 54 TODAY TO 74 TOMORROW, 64 ON FRIDAY WITH SOME MORE SCATTERED SHOWERS, PARTICULARLY IN THE MORNING. AND THEN AS WE GO INTO SATURDAY BACK DOWN TO THE 50S, AND THEN WE GO UP TO 68 ON SUNDAY. SO WE’RE GOING TO GO BACK AND FORTH, BACK AND FORTH FOR THE NEXT REALLY NEXT FIVE DAYS ESPECIALLY. BUT EVEN INTO NEXT WEEK, SUSAN, WE’RE GOING TO BE IN THE 50S, BUT WE DO GE
